About EuMaG

Introduction
The European Masters in Gerontology (EuMaG ) offers an outstanding international training programme that enables participants to understand and gain a deeper knowledge of the ageing process and its societal implications. EuMaG has been developed and delivered by a network of more than 20 European universities. The curriculum is multidisciplinary with a strong emphasis on international comparison; dealing with the current debates in Europe concerning policy and care for the elderly.
EuMaG is a modular based, two-year part-time programme. The flexible schedule caters especially for professionals working in the field of (public) health and social welfare, offering the possibility of a full Master's (MSc.) programme, as well as participation in individual modules that meet specific professional interests or needs. EuMaG also welcomes university students interested in gerontological issues.

Our programme is supported by the European Commission.

EuMaG: a European experience
The EuMaG programme enables students to travel and study in some of the key gerontological institutions across Europe. The first year offers five core modules, each focusing on a main discipline within gerontology. Every module starts with a residential lecture week, each in a different European city. Hosted by highly distinguished gerontological research centres, these modules offer a first-hand experience of different European settings in the field of gerontology.
The lecture weeks are an intensive introduction to the module's themes and give ample opportunity for group discussion and exchange. A broad range of cultures and nationalities - lecturers and participants come from Europe and outside - provide for an academic programme of distinct international value. Core modules are taught in English.

EuMaG: A flexible programme
EuMaG is very accessible to working professionals. Modules are introduced with a residential lecturing period of 8 consecutive days (5 working days plus two weekends). The remaining part of the module, including the assessment, is completed at home via email contact with fellow students and teaching staff. We also offer professionals and students the opportunity to enroll for individual modules. In this way professionals and students can upgrade their knowledge on specific areas in the field of gerontology, without following the entire programme.
