* Full Professor, Autonoma University of Madrid, since 1979, teaching Psychological Assessment and Evaluation and Psychology of ageing.
* Director of Gerontology Programs, Autonoma University of Madrid (including four Iberoamerican editions of the Master Program in Social Gerontology)
* Research on ageing since 1980
* Coordinator of the EXCELSA-Pilot (1997-00) and member of the Steering Committee of EuGeron Projects (European Union, DGXII, 1993-96).
* Didactic director of "Vital Ageing" Project (Socrates-Minerva, ODL Program, 2000-03)
* Program evaluator of several international organization such as the UNESCO and the EU.
* Member of the Expert Committee of the United Nation for developing the II International Plan of Action on Ageing and of the World Health Organization for reviewing the document "Active ageing".
* About 20 books and 200 articles published in Spanish, English, Russian and Italian
